Monday morning, August 18th, hopeful students and parents made their way to the first day of school at Kirby! After working all summer toward solid long-term solutions to issues such as housing availability and possible future economic development, while working together on short term solutions to increase our numbers over the state mandated enrollment number of 350, students from Daisy, Kirby, Newhope, Lodi, Langley, Salem, Glenwood and beyond traveled to Kirby for the first day of school!
At 7:00 a.m., this years senior class met at Sweet Pea's restaurant for the annual Senior Breakfast. Pre-ordered t-shirts were passed out to each student and it was a festive atmosphere as friends caught up with each other following summer. Before breakfast, the class stood out front, joined hands, and were led in prayer by fellow Senior, Brady Mount. It was a heartwarming thing to see, and be a part of. Just a reminder of who is really in charge and that our students, by and large, are willing to go boldly to the throne of grace, standing feet from busy Highway 70.
Following the prayer and a few pictures out front, the kids piled in and enjoyed their Senior Breakfast!
