Kirby School has been named a 2016-2017 School of Innovation by the Arkansas Department of Education.
A school of innovation is tasked with designing new and creative alternatives to existing instructional and administrative practices. These changes are intended to improve academic performance and learning for all students. Approval to become a School of Innovation is determined by the Commissioner of Education and is granted for a four year period.
This will allow Kirby High School to continue their plans to create career pathways that will result in a value added diploma and student centered learning; ultimately working toward a goal of becoming a true business model, teaching all students employability skills.
